Stakeholder Consultation Workshop and Public Lecture
On 3rd November, 2017, Riara University in collaboration with Foreign Service Academy (FSA) of the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and the University of Haifa, Israel, conducted the Annual African Affairs in International Relations and Diplomacy (AAIRD) Stakeholder Consultation workshop. The occasion was graced by the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Kenya, H.E. Noah Gal Gendler at the university’s premises in Mbagathi way, Nairobi.
The purpose of the stakeholder consultation was to share ideas and reflect on various research themes on emerging issues in African Affairs within the dynamic international system. During the occasion, students, faculty and invited guests had the opportunity to interact with Prof. Zach Levey, Chair, Department of International Relations, School of Political Science, University of Haifa, on the topic of importance to students of international relations and diplomacy, “Israel in Africa 1956-1976”.
The stakeholder consultation is part of RU’s partnership building in an effort to enhance linkages between academia and policy institutions. The research agenda is tailored to address pertinent questions and analyse strategic observations on the theme, African affairs in IRD. It is envisaged that this theme will build into the 2018 Global Conference on ‘Methods and Approaches in Advancing African Affairs in International Relations & Diplomacy,’ to be organized by Riara University in collaboration with key regional and global partners.
