We at the Riara School of Computing Sciences are at the forefront of current technology. Trying to predict future advances is both exciting and challenging. There has never been a more exciting time to study with us.
We deliver high-quality courses, research, and consultancy, and are a centre of excellence in the creative and technical aspects of computing, games and animation, web and multimedia. Some of our services include;

iCentre
The School is the home of the Riara University iCentre where we lead innovative ideas from all professions. The iCentre is a modern center where students experiment and incubate their ideas in a very conducive, supportive environment. Collaboration is the key at the iCentre. Laboratories
We have networked laboratories that are equipped to industry standard and running the latest software. Dedicated facilities are provided for animation, robotics, web and multimedia authoring, video editing, web service development, games, networks, digital post-production and digital music studios.

Programmes
Teaching programs on offer range from Certificates, Diplomas and Undergraduate degrees. In the very near future we will offer Masters and Research degrees. We have an excellent reputation for innovation and our teaching staff combine academic excellence with world class research and industrial experience.

Software
Software ranges from general purpose packages, programming languages, IT applications, to specialist packages such as 3D Studio Max, Actinic Suit, Alias Wavefront, Maya, Softimage XSI, Steinberg Cubase and Virtual Reality Builder.
We also provide multiple server-based services to help you produce your work such as:
• your own web space
• a range of the latest web servers including Apache, IIS and .NET
• database services for a range of platforms
Our student advice and support centre offer academic and administrative help. The IT resources centre is an integral part of our School, providing students with hardware and software needs.

Dean’s Scholarship
The School of Computing Sciences offers a Dean’s Scholarship for A students. In the scholarship the institution meets 40% of the tuition fee.

Admission Criteria
To qualify for a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, you must have done Physics in O-level and obtained a grade of C+ in KCSE or its equivalent.
To qualify for the Diploma programmes, you must have attained a grade of C (plain) in KCSE or its equivalent.
